Metro Manila

Very low turnout this week. If you weren't there you missed an excellent film. Here's an interesting interview with director, Sean Ellis, which gives an insight to the making of the film:

AManila for my next holiday?
AA HUMAN AND ALL TOO FAMILIAR STORY.
AWhat a heartbreaker! It seemed inevitable that this little family would be swallowed up by Metro Manila but... Oscar somehow saved his family.

BReally enjoyed this film and found parts of it unexpected. Acting very good to say some of them weren't actors.
BNerve racking — emotional and wanting him to become corrupt too to support his family!!
BWhat looked like being a predictable plot turned out to be anything but
BA very moving reminder of what life can be like in too many places.
BGood story. Good performances. Beautifully filmed.
CQuite slow for a large part. Depressing — futility of many people's lives.
DNot really the type of film I enjoy, but interesting, though harrowing and at times predictably boring.
